They chose their notes according to sounds already in their "mind's ear," sounds that have evolved over generations of singing with their particular musical community.
Ethel Raim served as music editor to Sing Out!, the national Folk Song magazine for ten years. Josh Dunson is a folk music commentator and community organizer who has been writing about the folk revival since 1962.
